Something to ponder.

You ever really thought about it? You know......what you think about God. That is, what you really think about Him. Well...for those that don't believe, you would have nothing to lose. Correct? Yeah, I know..... -  "Here we go again with those play-pretend God-fantasizers", you say?. Well, think about it. Why would I bring up the topic, unless I didn't believe that it was something worth thinking about? Of course as a believer and follower of the Lord Jesus Christ, I've run into a lot of people that don't believe in God. I do not judge them, because I used to be one of them, in a way. As crazy as it sounds, I grew up in church, but doubted who he was. That's the same as not believing. If you think about it, it's one side of the fence or the other. There's either belief or either un-belief. Of course, I sat in the pews with the best of them back in the dreary days of stand up, sing a sad (but piously religious) song or two, sit down, stand up, sing a sad song, then sit back down. Haha. Maybe that was the reason why I had a little difficulty in believing. Probably because I didn't get a good portrait of who God really was. Hey....wait a hot minute!!! You ever gotten a bad impression of a person because of what some other(s) had said or portrayed about them? I have, but it was concerning God. Boy oh boy, did it make for a long day when I came face-to-face with the one being talked about, and realized that what was being said wasn't true!!! I hated going to church as a kid, because it was just plain sad. My only enjoyment was watching the other kids get smacked upside their heads for talking too much!!! To make matters worse, I mouthed the songs not really knowing what I was saying or getting into. Amazingly, I got to know God by myself. I had enough of hearing sad stories disguised as finely constructed sermons with a doctorately (if such a word) positioned lean to it. Maybe a "shout" added for emotional sound effects for those who were deaf (I suppose). Wow! There was a vast difference in between the impression that I got from that, and what I read in the Bible. "Oopseeeeee!" -  (sung in opera voice)!!! Go figure. I had listened to something about from someone else, and hadn't done my homework on it! My life has since changed, and I actually found a church where the Pastor encourages relationship with God and not what others say about him. It's the same for those that don't believe. I had my reasons for not believing, as you could see. But what are reasons why people don't believe in God? Is it valid? Would they still say the same thing after finding out for themselves? Even if they chose not to believe, is everyone else wrong that does believe? Who would make up such a thing, such as God? You don't know until you try.........right? What would one have to lose anyway? Who wins the debate? Even if this blog is blasted to smitherenes, does that negate God? We try foods, music, clothes, cars, and even pets. Who's looking when you choose to try God? I'll make you a deal. Call me a loser for believing in God. But can what I've experienced be considered as coerced by someone else? By whom?

Just a little something to ponder.....

More to come....
